OMA and Viva strengthen international connectivity with new Monterrey–San José, Costa Rica route
Viva launches a new international service between Monterrey and San José, Costa Rica, operating twice weekly.
The new route promotes tourism and business exchange while strengthening Monterrey’s international connectivity network.
Monterrey, October 31, 2025 – Monterrey International Airport, operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), and Viva celebrated the launch of a new international route connecting Monterrey with San José, Costa Rica. This new service enhances northern Mexico’s air connectivity and fosters business and leisure travel between both destinations.
“We continue to work closely with Viva to build new air bridges that connect Monterrey International Airport with an ever-growing number of destinations. Routes like this are key to driving passenger growth, supporting tourism development, and strengthening Mexico’s international air connectivity,” said Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA.

With this new addition, Monterrey International Airport now serves more than 60 destinations—35 domestic and 25 international—connecting with nine countries and 11 of the 16 host cities for the 2026 World Cup.
Through ongoing collaboration between OMA, Viva, and the Ministry of Tourism of Nuevo León, Monterrey International Airport continues to strengthen its position as a leading hub for air connectivity in northern Mexico.
