Monterrey Airport celebrates the reopening of direct flight to Toronto by Air Canada

  • The route will operate as a regular service starting June 14, this route further establishes Monterrey as the leading aviation hub in northern Mexico and a vital bridge between Mexico and Canada.

Monterrey, Nuevo León, June 16, 2025 – Monterrey International Airport, operated by OMA, together with Air Canada and the Nuevo León Ministry of Tourism, is pleased to announce the resumption of the direct flight between Monterrey and Toronto — a key route that strengthens strategic connectivity between two major economic centers in North America.

Starting June 14, the service will operate continuously, positioning Monterrey Airport as a vital connection point in the Mexico–Canada commercial corridor, boosting business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between both nations.

Abelardo Muñoz, Director of Aviation Development at OMA, stated:

"The return of this route as a regular operation reflects the economic dynamism of Nuevo León and our shared vision with Air Canada to strategically connect Monterrey with key global business and investment centers. This creates a direct bridge to new opportunities for the Monterrey and Mexican industries."

This operation responds to growing demand for business travel, foreign direct investment, and high-value tourism between the two regions, facilitating the mobility of business leaders, investors, students, and tourists. Passengers will have the opportunity to connect from Toronto to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

The flight will offer three weekly frequencies, increasing to four per week during high-demand seasons, providing greater flexibility and travel options. This direct service from Monterrey will enable seamless access to Air Canada’s extensive global network via Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Flight operation details are as follows:

  • Flight AC1359 (Toronto – Monterrey): Saturdays, Tuesdays, Thursdays

    • Schedule: 5:50 p.m. (YYZ) – 8:15 p.m. (MTY)

  • Flight AC1358 (Monterrey – Toronto): Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays

    • Schedule: 10:45 a.m. (MTY) – 4:55 p.m. (YYZ)

  • Aircraft Type: Airbus A220-300

    • Seat Capacity: 137 total seats (12 in Business Class, 125 in Economy Class)
