Monterrey Airport welcomes Alaska Airlines with its new direct route to Los Angeles.

Monterrey, N.L., February 13, 2025The Monterrey International Airport, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and airline executives, celebrated the arrival of Alaska Airlines to the Sultana del Norte with its new direct route to Los Angeles, marking a milestone in northern Mexico’s air connectivity.

This new route, which begins operations today, represents Alaska Airlines’ first service from Monterrey and reinforces its commitment to the Mexican market. Operating Sunday to Saturday, with departures from Monterrey at 4:30 PM, the route will be served by modern Embraer 175 aircraft, providing passengers with an efficient and comfortable travel option between both cities.

Mexico has historically been a key market for Alaska Airlines, which began operations in the country in 1988 with its first flight from San Francisco to Mazatlán, followed by the route from Los Angeles. Currently, the airline also offers flights to Zihuatanejo from San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) and continues to expand its route network, connecting travelers from the U.S. West Coast to vibrant destinations across Mexico and Latin America.

The launch of the Monterrey–Los Angeles route strengthens the airline’s growth strategy in Mexico and reinforces its commitment to improving connectivity for travelers between both regions.
