Mazatlán Airport Receives Environmental Quality Certificate from PROFEPA
Mazatlán International Airport has received the Level 1 Environmental Quality Certificate from PROFEPA (Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente) through the PNAA (Programa Nacional de Auditoría Ambiental).
The recognition emphasizes the airport’s dedication to sustainability, operational efficiency, and environmental compliance.
Mazatlán, Sinaloa – September 5, 2025 – Mazatlán International Airport, operated by OMA, received the Environmental Quality Certificate from PROFEPA (Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente) on July 14, following its voluntary participation in the PNAA (Programa Nacional de Auditoría Ambiental).
The Level 1 Environmental Performance recognition underscores the airport’s efforts in implementing responsible practices to reduce environmental impacts, comply with regulations, and optimize processes related to water, energy, emissions, and waste management.
With this certification, OMA reaffirms its commitment to the responsible and sustainable operation of its airports, promoting the region’s tourism and economic development while protecting natural resources and the well-being of the communities where it operates.
