Route and Operations Details:
The combination and complementarity of these services to Montreal and Toronto will provide daily connectivity to Eastern Canada. This synergy between the two hubs will optimize itinerary options for passengers, allowing for seamless and efficient connections to and from an extensive network of cities across North America and Europe. Additionally, the Vancouver hub will offer strategic connections to the Asia-Pacific region.
Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA, stated: "The opening of the new route to Montreal and the strengthening of operations to Toronto and Vancouver from Monterrey confirm the consolidation of this airport as the northern hub of the country due to its strategic connections. Furthermore, this expansion contributes to the strengthening of commercial and tourism relations between the Monterrey region and Canada."
Regarding this expansion, Luis Noriega Benet, Air Canada’s Commercial Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, noted: "The expansion of our operations from Monterrey reflects Air Canada's commitment to strengthening connectivity between Mexico and Canada. By incorporating Montreal, along with the rest of the frequencies available for the state of Nuevo León—which are accessible to the entire northern region of the country—we will offer our passengers more alternatives to connect with our global network through our three main hubs in Canada."
Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Nuevo León, added: “The direct connection to Montreal brings Nuevo León closer to a key Canadian market and opens new opportunities for more visitors to discover the state. Each flight translates into activity for our hotels, restaurants, shops, and service providers, in addition to facilitating business travel and reunions between families.”
With this launch, OMA reaffirms its commitment to forging strategic alliances and working continuously to expand air connectivity, facilitating economic development and the well-being of the communities we serve.
