Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, August 26, 2025 – Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) and VINCI Airports announced the official inauguration of the new terminal building and the comprehensive renovation of the concourse at Ciudad Juárez International Airport (CJS), a project that doubles the terminal’s operational capacity and positions the city as a key connectivity and business hub for Mexico and the United States.
With an investment of 828.4 million pesos, the expansion increases capacity to more than 2.6 million passengers per year, with a flow of up to 1,386 people per hour, and adds over 13,800 m² of modern infrastructure. Highlights include:
Cumulative investment of more than 2 billion pesos between 2016 and 2024.
A final waiting lounge of 2,731 m² (more than triple the previous space).
A 1,009 m² domestic baggage claim area.
New commercial areas, security checkpoints, boarding bridges, and access points.
A renewed architectural design with a modern and functional image.
“This project is more than just a physical expansion: it is a strategic investment in connectivity, competitiveness, and passenger experience. It reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable development and boosting the regional economy,” stated Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA.
The project generated more than 380 direct jobs during its construction and strengthens the network of 14 domestic destinations operated by airlines such as Viva, Volaris, Aeroméxico, and TAR, in addition to cargo operations with DHL and Aeronaves TSM. This infrastructure facilitates logistics and cross-border trade, as well as promoting tourism and business in the border region.

Reconfiguring the baggage claim area.
Building new access roads to the airport.
Incorporating state-of-the-art technology to optimize processes.
