OMA Celebrate Viva's Arrival at San Luis Potosí Airport, Boosting Connectivity and Regional Prosperity with New Route Launches

  • Viva will operate the San Luis Potosí-AIFA route starting March 23, with daily frequency.

  • The San Luis Potosí-Monterrey connection will begin operations on June 30, with three weekly frequencies (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays).

  • These new routes will facilitate access to a wide network of national and international destinations from AIFA and Monterrey, improving travel opportunities for the inhabitants of San Luis Potosí.

San Luis Potosí, January 28, 2026 – Today, Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), together with the State Government and Viva, announced the start of Viva's operations at Ponciano Arriaga International Airport (SLP). This initiative marks the opening of two new national routes connecting San Luis Potosí with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) in Mexico City and with Monterrey Airport, significantly strengthening the state's air connectivity and boosting the region's economic and tourism development.

The expansion of flight offerings at San Luis Potosí Airport, a key asset within OMA's network, is a clear example of how improved infrastructure and air connectivity directly contribute to local prosperity. This initiative aligns to foster positive mobility and regional development. 

"Our state has great potential to become one of the most visited tourist spots in central Mexico, thanks to our incredible cultural and natural richness. These new routes and the connectivity they will bring will serve to nurture this potential and propel San Luis Potosí to a higher level," said Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, Governor of San Luis Potosí. 

San Luis Potosí Airport will benefit from an increase in passenger traffic, which in turn will stimulate tourism and commercial activity in the state. The connection with Monterrey, Mexico's fourth busiest airport and an important business hub, and with AIFA, positions San Luis Potosí as a strategic point in the center of the country.
