Monterrey International Airport inaugurates nursing cabins as part of its commitment to inclusion and passenger well-being

Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, February 11, 2026 – Monterrey International Airport inaugurated new nursing cabins designed to provide privacy, comfort, and hygiene for breastfeeding mothers traveling through the terminal, reinforcing its commitment to passenger well-being and to delivering a more human-centered and inclusive travel experience.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Governor of the State of Nuevo León, Samuel García; Mariana Rodríguez, head of AMAR a Nuevo León; as well as state authorities and representatives from the airport sector. During the event, speakers emphasized the importance of creating appropriate spaces that respond to the real needs of families and of women who travel or work at the airport.

Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA Aeropuertos, noted that the opening of these cabins represents more than the addition of a new service, as it reflects the broader vision of developing modern, inclusive, and people-centered airports. “An airport is not only a transit point; it is a space where comfort, safety, and well-being must be priorities,” he stated.

The new nursing cabins are designed for both traveling mothers and airport employees, offering a safe and suitable environment for breastfeeding or milk expression, and contributing to a more empathetic and equitable travel and workplace environment.

This initiative forms part of OMA’s investment plan for Monterrey International Airport, which includes a historic investment of nearly MXN 16 billion over a 10-year period aimed at modernizing infrastructure, enhancing passenger services, incorporating state-of-the-art technology, and strengthening air connectivity.

Through initiatives such as this, Monterrey International Airport reaffirms its commitment to continuing to evolve as a space responsive to the needs of its community, where passenger experience, inclusion, and social well-being remain central priorities.
