Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, February 3° 2026 – OMA and Volaris announced the launch of 13 new routes during the first half of 2026 as part of a joint strategy to strengthen air connectivity across Mexico’s central-northern region. The new services will operate at eight OMA airports, offering passengers expanded travel options and reinforcing ties between diverse communities.
The launch of these 13 new connections by Volaris adds to the 54 routes operated across 11 OMA airports as of the end of 2025, a year in which the airline added more than 15 new air services within OMA’s network. Over the past decade, the partnership between Volaris and OMA has supported sustained growth, serving close to 50 million domestic and international passengers, highlighting the airline’s relevance to OMA and to the markets served.
Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA Aeropuertos, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that “our partnership with Volaris is fundamental to continuing this growth, contributing significantly to the development of connectivity and to the prosperity of the regions we serve.”

With this announcement, significant passenger traffic growth toward central Mexico is projected, strengthening both national and international connectivity to San Luis Potosí, while also enabling the creation of new domestic links across other participating airports. As part of this expansion, Volaris will begin operations at Reynosa International Airport, becoming one of OMA’s airline partners with the broadest presence across the network, operating at 12 of the group’s 13 airports.
“The launch of these new routes reflects Volaris’ commitment to expanding accessible and efficient air connectivity between key regions of the country, in partnership with OMA,” said Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris. “This expansion strengthens the role of our regional airports as drivers of economic and tourism development, by connecting dynamic markets with low-fare offerings that stimulate demand and benefit more communities.”
The historic investment in airport infrastructure and the launch of new routes reaffirm the shared commitment and vision of OMA and Volaris to create, consolidate, and maintain efficient and functional connectivity systems. This joint effort also strengthens tourism, stimulates regional economies, and continues to position both companies as leaders in the aviation industry.
“This expansion is a clear example of how strategic collaboration can generate a positive and lasting impact on regional connectivity and the prosperity of our communities,” Dueñas added.
