Monterrey, Nuevo León, July 20, 2023.- OMA Monterrey Airport, the Ministry of Tourism of Nuevo León, and Volaris are pleased to announce the opening of a new route to La Paz, following the inaugural ceremony held today at the facilities of Monterrey International Airport.
This new route will boost the airport’s connectivity network and promoting the connection between two major cities with important business and leisure points.
The route to La Paz will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, allowing passengers to plan their journeys flexibly and to enjoy comfortable and safe flights aboard modern aircraft airbus 320 y 321.
La Paz, located on the Baja California Peninsula, is recognized as a paradise destination that offers a unique cultural experience. Passengers choosing this destination can enjoy the beauty of its beaches, explore its biodiversity, and take advantage of the business opportunities offered in this area.
The opening of this new route has a clear objective: to boost air connectivity in Nuevo León and place Monterrey International Airport as an important hub in Mexico's connections.
"Nuevo León has become a destination for millions of people who come to work, invest, do business, and enjoy the attractions of the state. Governor Samuel García has elevated the state's name, showcasing the limitless potential of Nuevo León and attracting top-level investors. That's why Monterrey International Airport is now one of the most important gateways in the country, extending its reach to the Pacific coast, driving a closer connection with important growth potential," stated Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León.
"We are very pleased to announce five new routes in Monterrey. This boost to the expansion of air connectivity in Nuevo León with various destinations throughout the country promises to open up more possibilities for the state's residents and tourists looking to enjoy its attractions, as well as for those with business objectives in the region. This aligns with our commitment to continue promoting economic, tourism, and commercial development in our country," commented Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris.
"Maintaining an attractive routes network from Monterrey is the result of close collaboration between the airport, airlines, and authorities. This new route enhances connectivity to the Pacific coast, promoting closer ties with the country's industrial capital," commented Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of OMA.
OMA, with the support of VINCI Airports, reaffirms its commitment to strategically diversify air connectivity with the aim of creating accessible mobility for travelers, driving economic, social, and tourism development in the country.
We will continue to work closely with authorities, partners, and airlines to expand our network and offer more travel options to our passengers.
